Time it takes to enforce a JudgmentA: That depends almost 100% on the judgment debtor. No matter how good a Judgment Enforcer/contingency collection lawyer/collection agency (JE) is - a broke or scoundrel debtor may be judgment-proof for now. And because Judgment Enforcers follow all laws, there are many legally-required delays (and expenses). The quickest we have seen is 5 days, the average time is about 16 months. The longest time has been about 27 years (so far), and some will take longer than that - and some will never be enforced. JEs only get paid for success - so you know JEs do their best to enforce judgments quick - and JEs keep tracking the debtor - no matter how long it takes. Go Back To Articles |
